I07 DIPPED BEAM (ONE) RH OR LH NOT WORKING/

Engines: 2.0 16V, 2.0 JTD 8V, 2.3 JTD 16V, 2.8 JTD 8V

One dipped headlamp does not work when the stalk switch wheel is operated with the key ON.

STEPOPERATIONS TO BE CARRIED OUTTEST RESULTS
1INDIVIDUAL LIGHT CHECKALL OKPROBLEMS ENCOUNTEREDACTION
Check the condition of the bulbs and associated bulb holder;Move on to Step1. Bulbs damaged1. Change the bulbs Op. 5540B25 DIPPED HEADLAMP BEAM (1), LH OR RH - R R
2. Front light cluster fault2. Repair or replace the front light cluster Op. 5540B10 EXTERIOR LIGHT DIMMER RESISTOR - R+R
2DIPPED HEADLAMP ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT CHECKALL OKPROBLEMS ENCOUNTEREDACTION
Check the following, in order:
  • Dipped headlamp fuses
  • Bulb earth
Move on to Step1. Component defective1. Replace defective component (in the case of a fuse, find out what caused it to blow).
2. Connections interrupted2. Repair the connections See E2011 DIPPED HEADLAMPS
3ENGINE BAY CONTROL UNIT CHECKALL OKPROBLEMS ENCOUNTEREDACTION
Check the following, in order:
  • Correct power supply to engine bay control unit;
  • Check that battery output voltages are generated to control the bulbs when an earth signal is activated from the switch control unit to the engine bay control unit
Move on to Step1. Connections interrupted1. Repair the connections See E2011 DIPPED HEADLAMPS
