- Position the vehicle on the lift.- Remove the rear wheel.- Working underneath the vehicle, with the help of a jack, slightly raise the rear axle on the side of the leaf spring to be removed.1. Undo the lower shock absorber fixing bolt.2. Undo the nuts fixing the leaf spring to the axle.3. Keep the U-bolts (3a) and the plate (3b).
- Check that the leaf spring is not damaged.- Place the leaf spring in position.- Fit the bolts fixing the leaf springs to the supports and screw in the nuts without tightening them.1. Position the leaf spring (1a) fitting the projection in the housing (1b) on the axle.2. Position the plate (2a) fitting the housing on the leaf spring projection (2b).3. Position the U-bolts.4. Tighten the nuts.
- Refit the rear wheel.- Remove the vehicle from the lift.1. The definitive tightening of the bolt fixing the shock absorber and the leaf springs to the supports should be carried out in the design load conditions. Therefore the vehicle must be suitably loaded over the rear axle so that the distance (L) between the buffer plane and the buffer support plane corresponds to the recommended figure (leaf spring in horizontal position).
